Economical Housing

Montreal

All hotel prices will be high in Montreal in August. We think that the Queen Elizabeth is the choice for those who want to stay in the midst of the conference and in the center of the city at a legendary hotel.

For 'cheap' rooms visit the following sites:

www.mcgill.ca/residences/summer/ This is the official site of the McGill University Summer Residence. Rooms vary from $35-40/night and each room is equipped with a small refrigerator. It is possible to rent a room by the week. There are shared bathrooms. It is possible to walk to the conference hotel from here.

www.hostels.com/ca.qc.mo This website will describe all hostel accommodations. The HI hostel at 1030 Mackay St. Fax (514) 934-3251 offers private room accommodations. There is also a hostel in the old city, Auberge de View Montreal, 358, rue St. Pierre. These rooms run from $19 + per night.

www.conferencemontreal.com/tourist-board.htm This is the official tourist website of Montreal. You will find information about all the hotels in Montreal here. Because of the numerous choices we cannot recommend any particular hotel.

www.residences-uqam.qc.ca This site offers Auberge accommodations during the summer months. Contact Les Résidences Universitaires de L'Universitaire de Québec a Montréal (UQAM) at 303 René Levesque est, Montréal, Qc. H2X 3Y3; Fax 514-987-0344
