Nan Bernstein Ratner is Professor, Department of Hearing and Speech Sciences, University of Maryland, College Park, USA. She has published extensively in the area of fluency disorders, language acquisition and disorders in children, and psycholinguistics. With the late Oliver Bloodstein, she coauthored the most recent edition of the classic Handbook on Stuttering (6th edition) NY: Cengage. An ASHA Fellow as well as ASHA Honors recipient, she was the 2006 recipient of the IFA's Distinguished Researcher Award. In 2016, she was honored to be named Professional of the Year by the National Stuttering Association.
